The Command department is responsible for a lot of things. And this can differ greatly for each role since nearly each member of command is responsible for their own department and the people working there. Working in Command can be taxing and will ask a lot of you in terms of knowledge for the department you are spearheading. Communication and leadership skills are the key to success here.
Duties of the Command department are:
- Ensuring smooth operations.
- Maintaining a professional work environment.
- Leading the crew.
Members of command are given special privileges among the crew, having a personal office and a pet within your office are a few. These luxuries do not come for free though, Corporate is putting a lot of faith in their command members and they are expected to deliver results through effectively managing their departments. Captain |
The Captain is the commander aboard Artea ships or stations. They are the person that Corporate sent to lead the shift to success. Therefore this can be one of the most important roles, the decisions of the Captain will directly or indirectly affect the crew as a whole. The power of a Captain is not absolute, you are not untouchable. |

Head of Personnel |
The Head of Personnel is responsible for managing the service department. Additionally, they are responsible for handling crew transfers and access changes. They can be viewed as the Captain's right hand man. In the absence of one, captainship will fall to the Head of Personnel. |
Chief Engineer |
The Chief Engineer is the person responsible for the structural well-being of the Station or Ship. As Chief Engineer, you will find yourself more often than not overseeing the work that the Engineers are doing and making sure that it is all up to standard. It is highly recommended that Chief engineers are proficient with all facets of engineering work. |
Quartermaster |
The Quartermaster is the head of Cargo. They are directly responsible for all operations and the well being of the department. Therefore it is important that a Quartermaster closely manages their department. Your primary tasks are ensuring that the station or ship has enough funds and that orders are being delivered. |
Chief Medical Officer |
The Chief Medical Officer is the head of Medical. Duties as CMO include the following: Managing your department, Keeping track of supplies and ensuring that everyone in the department can do their job. CMO is a diverse and busy job at times. Extensive knowledge about chemistry and medical practices is highly recommended. |
Head of Security |
The Head of Security is the person responsible for leading the Security department. Leadership skills and levelheadedness are highly recommended to have when picking up this role. Your primary task is leading the security force in protecting Artea and her crew against threats both foreign and domestic. |
Lead Pathfinder |
The Lead Pathfinder is the head of the Pathfinders department. They are the person responsible for leading expeditions into the great unknown using the Pathfinders shuttle and ensuring everything goes well while out in the great beyond. As Lead Pathfinder you should work together closely with your fellow pathfinders, the stations success may depend on you and the results of your expeditions. |
Internal Affairs Agent |
Internal Affairs Agents are the bureaucratic arm of Artea, they are on board stations and ships to oversee operations and ensure that Standard Operating Procedure is being followed by the crew. This doesn't mean that Internal Affairs Agents should be looking to demote people for the smallest infractions. Remember, context is king! |
